Energy Management is a Process that includes many aspects. Success depends on the:
Team – identify and include energy management champions within the organization. This can include senior management, area specialists or any people of influence.
Data – leverage existing data collection and simple tools to analyse an energy management path. The only thing worse than not collecting data, is collecting data, and doing nothing with it.
Follow-up – put systems in place to maintain performance and realize improvements long term. Systems can be as simple as programmed setpoints or regular performance meetings to review key metrics.
QED has successfully completed studies for industrial clients, fully funded by BC Hydro, including Plant Wide Audits, End Use Assessments, Energy Efficiency Feasibility Studies and Low Carbon Electrification Projects. The total potential energy savings if implemented would result in a 17% reduction in energy costs.
